The Aztecs have signed 23 new faces on the one of the biggest days in college football. That list includes eight three-star athletes. Heading that list are wide receiver Julius Wilson that we previewed yesterday in a National Signing Day preview article, and outside linebacker/defensive end Fred Melifonwu.

Melifonwu is a 6’5″ 210 pound athlete who can play outside linebacker or come off the edge at defensive end. His size is typical of a rushing type linebacker. He has good speed off the edge and can get after the quarterback. While he may be a little raw and need time to develop, he will fit in nicely as a pass rusher.

Other three-star recruits include DB Kalan Montgomery, DB Tyler Morris, RB Donnel Pumphrey, QB Darryl Richardson, LB Marcus Stamps, and TE David Wells.

Rounding out the list is fifteen two-star recruits, including thirteen that came on National Signing Day.

The San Diego State Aztecs are looking to take this recruiting class and build around it this off-season toward a successful and winning season that will in turn lead to an even bigger day around this time next season.
