After missing out on re-signing Louis Vasquez and letting Andy Levitre slip away, the Chargers have signed another offensive guard from Buffalo, Chad Rinehart.

Rinehart had a solid year last year. He didn’t allow a single sack and was only flagged once through seven games. Rinehart has started 14 games over the past two seasons and has allowed a total of one sack. He played on an offensive line that was coached by Joe D’Allesandres, who is now the Chargers offensive line coach.

Rinehart has just filled in where needed and has been cut from the Redskins and the Jets before finally making a bit of an impact with the Bills. If D’Allesandres  wants him for the line, then he knows what he can be capable of. He could come in and find a starting spot with Vasquez gone and Tyronne Green being a free agent.

In other news, Antoine Cason is meeting with the Cardinals today while Jerraud Powers is scheduled to meet with the Chargers today after meeting with the Cardinals and told them that he was 100 percent committed to meeting with San Diego. The Eagles have surfaced as a team that is interested in pass rusher Antwan Barnes.
