According to UT San Diego the Padres switch-hitting shortstop and lead off hitter Everth Cabrera’s season is going to end.

He has accepted a 50-game suspension from Major League Baseball according to Fox Sports after being implicated in MLB’s lengthy probe into the Florida anti-aging clinic linked to the distribution of performance-enhancing drugs to professional players.

It looks like Cabrera will not be the only Padre taking the suspension since two other Pads were investigated.   Catcher Yasmani Grandal and minor league pitcher Fautino De Los Santos are connected to the clinic as well.  Grandal already served a 50 game suspension last November after testing positive for testosterone and since he is out with an ACL injury was not penalized further.  De Los Santos accepted the 50 game suspension as well.

It goes without saying that Cabrera, 26, who has never failed a drug test, was having the best season of his career, on both sides of the ball.
