As expected, Chargers WR Danario Alexander passed through waivers today unclaimed and was placed on injured reserve. Alexander was only signed on a one year tender and will be a unrestricted free agent next season.

Alexander was expected to be the big threat WR for The Chargers until a torn ACL ended his season. Time will tell if The Chargers plan on taking another chance on the 25 year old wide out. Alexander has been plagued by knee injuries his entire career and will now have his sixth knee surgery in his young career.

Alexander was having a solid training camp this preseason and after the spark that he ignited to the offense last year, was expected to have an even bigger role in 2013. I personally hope that Alexander’s career is not done, I wish him a speedy and healthy recovery and still would love to see DX don the San Diego lighting bolt next season.
