Chargers vs Texans: Game Preview

Tick, tock, tick, tock. It’s almost game time. The start of the Chargers 2013 regular season is almost here!

Our opponent for week 1 is a tough contest. The Houston texans come into town and will challenge the Chargers early and often!

Here is a preview of the match ups to watch:

Andre Johnson vs Derek Cox/Shareece Wright

Cox is familiar with Johnson from his days at Jacksonville, Johnson will garner much attention from the Chargers secondary. Our CBs can’t let him get loose if they want to stay in this game.

Arian Foster vs Chargers Defensive line

Foster is about to get thrown into game speed very quickly. The coaches say that they will have a Foster split with fellow RB Ben Tate in order to ease him in to the offensive tempo. The Chargers BIG 3: Corey Liuget, Cam Thomas and Kendall Reyes will have to collapse the running lanes in order to keep Foster and Tate in check.

Chargers O-Line vs Texans pass rush

Attention! Attention! J.J. Watt is in town. Watt and company comprise a fantastic pass rush that comprised 44 sacks last season. The remade Chargers offensive line better bring their A-Game to THE Q. They will have a big responsibility of keeping Philip Rivers upright.

Chargers Wide Receivers vs Texans Secondary

The Chargers will need more than the usual suspects of Malcolm Floyd and Antonio Gates to cause trouble for the Texans. The young crop of Vincent Brown, Eddie Royal and Keenan Allen will NEED to contribute in this game to help the Chargers secure a win.
