Last week The Chargers made the most significant jump out of any team in ESPN’s power rankings. They moved 10 spots from #26 to #16. After falling to the Titans, The Chargers dropped to #19 in the week 4 power rankings.

The experts explain that in the 3 games the Chargers have played, they have been close games that have been decided by 3 points in each match up. Obviously the improvement of Philip Rivers should also have an positive impact on the team rankings as well. Rivers is still number 2 overall in total QBR (116.2) and tied for second in touchdowns (8).

The Achilles heel of this team is on the other side of the ball. The Chargers defense currently ranks 31st in total defense giving up an average of 470 total yards and 27 points per game! in order for Chargers to win games. In case no one has heard yet, Tony Romo and Dez Bryant are coming to town this week, along with their 13th ranked defense! This is a big test for The Chargers this week, the time for players to step up is now!
