Ryan Mathews was not on the Thursday injury report, so why is he all of a sudden on the pre-game injury report?  The report does not list a lot of information.  Just the name, position and part of body that is injured, so I am not sure what is going on.

According to the Chargers injury report, the body part that had him limited in Friday practice was his hamstring.  However, a quick Google search led me to a NBC Sports page that quotes Mike McCoy as saying Mathews is just dealing with some tightness.

Normally, I would not worry about some hamstring tightness, but this is Ryan Mathews (aka, Mr. Glass) and the person saying “just a little tightness” is the same person that said Manti Te’o had a bruised foot and would be out for a couple weeks.  I also recall something about minimizing a torn ACL as a “knee boo boo”, but that’s a different article.

So, keep an eye out for Mathews in the Raider game tonight.  He is an important part of the 2-2 Chargers offense as he leads the team in rushing yards (226) and carries (64).  If Mathews is sidelined due to tightness, the Bolts have Danny Woodhead.  He is stepping up and has become the Bolts primary receiving threat out of the backfield, catching 20 passes for 146 yards and two touchdowns in the last three weeks.
