San Diego,CA- With the Cincinnati Bengals and the Miami Dolphins both losing late in the 4th quarter, the Chargers would need to defeat the Chiefs to clinch the AFC’s final playoff spot.

With that in mind the Chiefs have given the Chargers a late Christmas present as they are resting almost all of their starters today. Officially 20 of the Chiefs 22 starters are inactive today.

On offense the Chiefs are resting nine of their eleven offensive starters, including Quarterback Alex Smith and Running Back Jamal Charles. Chase Daniel will start for Alex Smith and Knile Davis will start for Jamaal Charles.

On defense the Chiefs are resting everyone of their defensive starters today against the Chargers.

It’s was excepted that with the Chiefs having the 5th seed in the AFC locked up that they would rest a few of their key players, but no one expected them to rest almost their entire team against the Chargers.

With that being said there is no excuse for the chargers to lose to the Chiefs and clinch there first playoff birth since 2009.
