San Diego, CA- San Diego Padres fell to the Arizona Diamondbacks 8-6 Thursday afternoon in game number six of cactus league play.

The Padres fall to (1-4-1) on the spring.

Padres Starter Eric Stults struggled once again in his second start of the spring, allowing three runs on three hits and two walks in only one inning of work.

The Padres would cut into the Diamondbacks lead in the bottom of the second on a Solo home-run by Carlos Quentin, his first of the spring to cut the Diamondbacks lead to 3-1.

The Diamondbacks would tack on another run in the third and fourth to extend their lead, but the Padres would match the Diamondbacks scoring two runs in the bottom of the third on an RBI ground-out by Chris Denorfia and a solo-homerun by Yonder Alonso, his first of the spring to cut the lead to 4-3. The Padres would also add a run in the bottom of the fourth on a RBI double by Everth Cabrera to cut the lead to 5-4.

The Padres would tie the game in the bottom of the sixth on an RBI single by Alex Dickerson to score Reymond Fuentes and tie the game at 5-5.

The game would not remain tied for long, as the Diamondbacks would score three runs in the top of the seventh to take the lead 8-5.

The Padres would cut the lead to 8-6 in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI ground-out by Cory Spangenberg. That’s as close as the Padres would get though as they fall to the Diamondbacks 8-6.
