No. 12 Oklahoma State Cowboys comeback to defeat No. 24 USD Toreros, 6-5

San Diego, CA- The No. 12 Oklahoma State Cowboys cameback to defeat No. 24 USD Toreros, 6-5  Friday afternoon at Reynolds Stadium. 

The 12th-ranked Oklahoma State University baseball team scored six unanswered runs to come-from-behind and defeat No. 24 University of San Diego, 6-5, the baseball series opener

The Toreros fall to (8-4) on the season and have lost three games straight.

The Toreros scored the games first runs in the  top of the first, scoring five runs on a Jesse Jenner two-run single and a Josh Goossen-Brown three-run home-run to give the Toreros a 5-0 lead.

Toreros ace PJ Conlon was dominant to start the game, taking a no-hitter into the fourth. Until the Cowboys broke up the no-hitter in the fourth on a Donnie Walton RBI double to cut the Toreros lead to 5-1. The Cowboys weren’t done though, as they scored three more runs off Conlon to cut the Toreros lead down to 5-4.

The Cowboys would take the lead in the bottom of the eighth scoring two runs to take the lead 6-5.

The Toreros would rally in the top of the ninth, and had the tying run on third and go ahead run on second with one out, but unfortunately the Toreros would strand both runners and fall to the 12th ranked Cowboys 6-5.

Toreros CJ Burdick suffered his first loss of the season and fell to (0-1) on the year for the Toreros.
