San Diego State Aztecs land 4-Star Top Hoops Recruit Jeremy Hemsley

San Diego, CA- The San Diego State Aztecs with the additions of shooting guard Trey Kell, point guard Kevin Zabo, small forward Malik Pope and power forward Zylan Cheatham are bringing in the most heralded recruiting class in program history, but of course recruiting never ends in college sports as the Steve Fisher and his staff are working to bring in another solid recruiting class for next year.

Jeremy Hemsley is one of the top basketball recruits on the West Coast and announced his college choice this afternoon. The San Diego State Aztecs were among the finalists and ended up being Hemsley’s top choice as he committed to the Aztecs.

Most recruiting analyst’s viewed the Aztecs as the head on favorite to land Jeremy Hemsley.

Jeremy Hemsley, is a four-star 6-foot-3 combo guard out of Damien High in La Verne, Califorina and is ranked in the top 100 by ESPN, Scout.com and Rivals.com.

ESPN ranks Jeremy Hemsley the highest of the three at 52nd nationally. Scout.com ranks him 54th and Rivals.com 77th.

Hemsley has received offers from San Diego State, Washington, Colorado, Arizona State, UConn, Gonzaga, New Mexico, Boston College and Vanderbilt. Hemsley has narrowed his finalists to San Diego State, Washington, Colorado and Arizona State.

In high school Hemsley plays point guard, but most scouts list him as a shooting guard with above average defensive abilities. Most scouting reports view Hemsley as an athletic slasher that plays with high intensity and leadership qualities.

The Aztecs have three scholarships available for this class and are also in the running for 4 star recruits Cameron Walker, Stephen Thompson Jr. and Ernest Aflakpui.
