San Diego Chargers Preseason Week 3 Injury Report

The San Diego Chargers are halfway through the preseason. Many players are healing well but there are still injuries around. The majority of the Chargers injuries are on defense.

The injuries start with the Chargers linebacker unit. Defensive end Lawrence Guy is out with a shoulder injury and defensive end Sean Lissemore is out with an ankle injury. Linebacker Manti Te’o has a foot injury but it’s not the foot he had surgery on. We need these defensive ends healthy to bring depth and hopefully they are ready for the season. Te’o was having a great camp and he can lead the defense if he can get healthy.

There are still a few injuries in the secondary. Cornerback Marcus Cromartie has been struggling with injuries. Cromartie would be great to have for depth but he might be on special teams. Safety Jahleel Addae has a hamstring injury. Addae could be the starting safety next to Weddle and it is important he heals quick.

Offense looks better when injuries come up. Vincent Brown still has calf trouble and it could mean losing his job. Brown might go down to the 6th wide receiver on the depth chart. Kerwynn Williams has had unknown injuries and he might be knocked down to the practice squad. Jeromey Clary remains on the PUP (physically unable to perform) list and he may not be ready until Week 4.

The San Diego Chargers next game is against the San Francisco 49ers on August 24 at 1 p.m. Pacific
