San Diego Chargers Cut Roster to 79 Players

The San Diego Chargers have begun roster cuts. The limit for players is 53 and the Chargers are currently at 79.

A majority of the players cut were on offense. Running back Kerwynn Williams, fullback Zach Boren, wide receivers Brelan Chancellor and Micah Hatfield, tight ends Jake Byrne and Ryan Otten are among the skill position players.

Offensive linemen cuts were guard Darryl Johnson and tackle Nick Becton.

The defense cuts were linebacker Adrian Hamilton and cornerback Lowell Rose. Punter Chase Tenpenny was also cut.

These 11 cuts are only the beginning for the Chargers. The deadline to get to 75 players is Tuesday, August 26 at 1 p.m. Pacific.

The deadline for the Chargers to cut the roster to 53 players is Saturday, August 30 at 1 p.m. Pacific.
