Video: Cory Spangenberg hits his 1st career HR to give the Padres a walk-off win

San Diego,CA- After making his major league debut yesterday for the San Diego Padres, Cory Spangenberg continued to make his presence felt today with a pinch-hit walk-off home run, his first career home run to give the Padres a 2-1 win over the Diamondbacks.

With the game tied at 1-1 in the bottom of the 9th Spangenberg came off the bench to pinch-hit for Cameron Maybin and smoked the first pitch he saw into the right field bleachers for his first career home run.

According to Patrick Kurish ‏the last two Major League Baseball players to hit a pinch hit HR for their first career home run were both Padres. Cory Spangenberg tonight and former Padre Paul McAnulty in 2006.
