San Diego Chargers place center Doug Legursky on Injured Reserve with knee injury

San Diego, CA- The San Diego Chargers have lost another center for the season, as they placed center Doug Legursky on season-ending injured reserve with a knee injury this afternoon.

Doug Legursky suffered the injury during Sundays 31-0 victory over the New York Jets. Legursky left the game in the 4th quarter when he was carted off the field with a knee injury. Rookie third-round pick Chris Watt took over at center in Doug Legursky’s place.

The San Diego Chargers signed Doug Legursky earlier this month to improve their offensive line depth, after placing center Nick Hardwick on season-ending injured reserve with another neck injury.

Doug Legursky a six-year veteran made 11 starts last season for the Buffalo Bills. Doug Legursky was a three year starter at Marshall University and signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent in 2008. Doug Legursky spent five season with the Pittsburgh Steelers and started 17 games for the Steelers. Doug Legursky also started at center for the Steelers in Super Bowl XLV.
