Chargers Meachem “wont be a factor”

Even with Danario Alexander’s ACL tear, Meachem still finds himself buried on San Diego Chargers depth chart. According to Clark Judge of CBSSports.com people in the Chargers org have said they were convinced that even before training camp opened that Meachem “won’t be a factor” this season.

One person familiar with the situation told UT’s Kevin Acee emphatically that Meachem is “broken down,” that his body has degenerated since his days with the New Orleans Saints from 2007 to 2011. While even Meachem himself has admitted that he had looked in the mirror and told himself he “sucked” last season.

I was excited when Meachem came over from the Saints and he looked good in camp.  So, I have got to wonder if all of this negative press is going to motivate him or simply cause him to perform at the level that is expected?  What do you think?
