Down but not out: Chargers injured players on the mend

After last week’s performance against the Eagles, it seems as though the Chargers have turned a corner both in regards to their play and their toughness (especially after losing the lead against the Texans in Week 1). Despite the steps forward, injuries continue to haunt the team. Malcom Floyd is expected to be sidelined with a neck injury, which means that Eddie Royal will be Rivers’ go to receiver this week. Manti Te’o has returned to practice, but is still about a week away from returning to the field. Donald Butler, who sustained a groin injury, has been held out of practice, but is expected to be ready for the game on Sunday. The biggest injury news of the week, however, continues to be D.J. Fluker’s concussion that has kept him sidelined from football activity. His availability for Sunday is in doubt, meaning that Mike Harris, a starter last season, would start. Hopefully all of these players are able to get healthy soon and can help the team mount a playoff charge this season.
