This weeks mandatory Thursday injury report is full of players that we need to have on the field. After the bad news this week that both Floyd and Freeney are out for the season the Chargers need the injury luck to turn their way. We can only hope that as the players on this list return to the game, no one else goes down.
Jeromey Clary – G-T – Did not practice on Wednesday and was on limited practice today. I’m good with him taking as much time as he needs to come back, since he is an under-performer.
Derek Cox – CB – Back to full practice after his knee injury, so we should be looking for him to make some big plays this weekend at Oakland.
King Dunlap – T – Still suffering the effects of his concussion and did not practice this week. We need the big guy on the line, but I can wait for him to be 100%. He is out for the Raider game this Sunday.
Nick Hardwick – C – Not sure what’s up here, but for the second week in a row he has been limited at practice for non injury related reasons. He will be in this weekend, so no need to worry.
Rich Ohrnberger – C-G – Still not practicing due to a groin pull. We will keep an eye on him for next week.
Johnny Patrick – CB – Suffering from a chest injury, he was on limited practice Wednesday, but back to full speed today. Expect him to be geared up for Sunday.
Chad Rinehart – G – Turf toe is this guards problem. Not an easy one to recover from when your job is pushing people. He did not practice, so he will not play again. I would be looking for him to come back after the bye week.
Manti Te’o – ILB – Te’o is still on the list, but back at full speed in practice. I think we can drop him from the injury report and list him as healthy. Now if we can just list him with some hurries, sacks and maybe a pick six this Sunday!
Shareece Wright – CB – The good news is that Wright is back at practice after his hamstring injury. He may still be out this week against the Raiders, but he might just be back in time for the Broncos.
All in all we are looking good with the guys we have standing. It would be nice to have the cast of talent on IR, but we will just have to wait.
Until then, #OneCharge #IBelieve
