Yesterday, the San Diego Chargers played host to the Indianapolis Colts in a AFC rivalry that is turning out to be a great one. After having a perfect 4-4 game Novak said “There’s no better feeling than that,” he said. “Everyone played so well. I’m happy for Coach McCoy and Tom Telesco and the whole organization. I never played in the Super Bowl, but it felt like a championship game. It’s a great feeling. Everybody did their job today. Our goal is to win no matter how we did it. And it was crazy. I’m sure all the fans were going nuts as we put on a show.”
We were going nuts. The entire stadium erupted when Novak nailed the game sealing 50 yarder, but you could have heard a pin drop while the ball made it’s journey through the center of the uprights.
This is not the first time this season the Novak has helped the Chargers pull out a win over their opponent. He was also a huge factor when the Chargers beat the Eagles, going 4-for-4 and punching through the game-winning 46-yard field goal.
This reminds me of the old days when Rolf Benirschke was one of the hero’s of our team. Maybe he is looking at Novaks dead on 5o yarder and thinking that was not something he could have pulled off.
I’m just glad to see things happening with our Bolts and everyone making an effort. Things are staring to look like they should have week one and I could not be happier.
