Ryan Mathews held out of practice again with ankle injury

San Diego,CA- San Diego Chargers Running Back Ryan Mathews was held out of practice for the second straight day due to his ankle injury.

Mathews who exited the locker room Sunday after the Chargers 26-13 win over the Raiders wearing a protective boot on his left foot has not practiced at all this week, but is expected to be ready for Sundays game against the Chiefs according to Chargers Coach Mike McCoy.

"“He’s doing fine,” McCoy said. “He’ll be ready. He’s got a great frame of mind right now. I’m looking forward to him having another big game.”"

Mathews left Sundays game in the 4th quarter with a left ankle injury. Matthews re-entered the game later on in the 4th quarter and was able to finish the game.

Eddie Royal also did not practice for a second straight day today with a toe injury, but Chargers Cornerback Shareece Wright did return to practice today.
