USD Toreros fall to Japan Railway East 4-3

San Diego,CA- Japan Railway East in an International Exhibition game at Fowler Park defeated the USD Toreros 4-3 Tuesday night.
Japan Railway East scored the games first run in the first to take the lead 1-0 over the Toreros.
Connor Joe would tie the game for the Toreros in the 3rd on a RBI single to score Louie Lechich. Lechich started the inning with a lead off triple to get in position to tie the game.
Japan Railway East would retake the lead in the 5th, scoring two runs to retake the lead 3-1 after five innings.
The score would remain the same until the top of the ninth when Japan Railway East would tack on an insurance run to extend their lead over the Toreros 4-2 heading into the bottom of the ninth.
The Toreros would rally in the bottom of the ninth, scoring a run to cut Japan Railway East’s lead to 4-3, but that’s all the Toreros would score, as they fell to Japan Railway East 4-3. The Toreros remain (2-1) on the season, after winning their first series of the season against the New Mexico Lobo’s last weekend.
The Toreros resume regular-season play on Friday, as they host Northern Kentucky for a four-game series at Fowler Park.
