Padres v.s Reds & Dodgers Preview

San Diego,CA- The San Diego Padres take on the Cincinati Reds and Los Angeles Dodgers in a split squad double header today in game number 4 and 5 of Cactus League play.
The Padres are currently ( 0-3) in Cactus League play.

The Kansas City Royals defeated the San Diego Padres 7-3 in game number three of cactus league play. The Padres fall to (0-3) on the spring.
Padres Ian Kennedy was sharp in his spring debut today, allowing no runs on one hit, while striking out two in two innings of work.
With the game scoreless in the Top of the 3rd the Padres would take the leadn2-0 over the Royals after a 2-run HR by Cameron Maybin off the Mariners Brad Penny. For Maybin who missed most of last season due to multiple injuries throughout the year, it was his first home run in a game since June 9.
The lead would not last long for the Padres, as in the bottom of the 3rd Padres pitching prospect Keyvius Sampson would struggle in his spring debut, allowing four runs on four hits and a walk in only an inning of work. Sampson also struggled with his command, throwing 34 pitches and only 16 for strikes.
The Padres would cut the Royals lead to 4-3 in the top of the 4th, as Jedd Gyorko lead off the inning with a line drive double to center field, then Tommy Medica followed with a single to left field to advance Gyorko to 3rd. Alexi Amarista would drive in Gyorko on a RBI single to center fielder.
The Royals would answer back in the 4th, scoring three runs off Padres hard throwing prospect Adys Portillo in his spring debut, to extend the Royals lead to 7-3. The game would end early in the bottom of the 8th due to rain as the Royals defeated the Padres 7-3.
