San Diego State Aztecs fall to Nevada 4-3

San Diego, CA- The San Diego State Aztecs fell to the Nevada Wolfpack 4-3 Friday night at Tony Gwynn Stadium. The Aztecs fall to (9-4) on the season and record overall and (2-2) in Mountain West play.
The Wolf-pack scored the games first run in the first and an additional run in the third to lead the Aztecs 2-0.
The Aztecs would cut the Wolf-pack’s lead to 2-1 in the bottom half of the third on a bases-loaded walk to Andrew Brown, but were unable to get anyone else home and left the bases loaded trailing 2-1 after three innings of play.
The Wolf-pack would extend their lead to 4-1 on a two-run homerun by Bryce Greager.
The Aztecs would rally in the bottom of the seventh to make it a one run game on an RBI double by Seby Zavala and a sacrifice fly by Brad Haynel to cut the Wolf-packs lead to 4-3.
Unfortunately the Aztecs would be unable to rally in the bottom of the ninth and fall to the Wolf Pack 4-3.
Aztecs RoBards suffered his second loss of the season and fell to (2-2) on the year for the Aztecs.
Seby Zavala led the Aztecs on offense tonight with three hits, two of them being doubles.
The San Diego State Aztecs return to action tomorrow afternoon for game two of the three game series against the Nevada Wolf-pack.
