Padres v.s Giants Game 3 Preview

San Diego,CA- The San Diego Padres take on the San Francisco Giants in game three of the three game series.
The Padres are currently (13-15) and the Giants are (16-11) on the season.

San Diego,CA- Yusmeiro Petit and the San Francisco Giants shut down the struggling Padres offense 6-0.
Petit was making an emergency start for Giants ace Matt Cain, who injured his right index finger before the game.
Despite the absence of Cain, Petit pitched like the Giants ace. Petit improved to (2-1) on the season and allowed no runs on three hits, while striking out four in six scoreless innings of work.
Eric Stults struggled to begin the game allowing solo-home runs to Angel Pagan and Buster Posey to leadoff the bottom of the first and give the Giants a 2-0 lead. Hector Sanchez
Stults would continue to struggle in the second, as the Giants loaded the bases with only only one out. Stults would be able to get out of the inning unscaved as Michael Morse grounded into a double play to end the inning.
Stults wouldn’t be so lucky in the third as Hector Sanchez and Brandon Crawford drove in a run each to increase the Giants lead to 5-0 and subsequently knocked Eric Stults out of the game.laced a single to left that scored Sandoval and helped the Giants to a five-run advantage.
The Giants would extend their lead in the fifth as Hector Sanchez hit a sacrifice fly to increase their lead to 6-0.
Stults fell to (1-3) on the season after allowing five runs on seven hits and two walks in 2.2 innings of work.
After Stults exited the game rookie reliever Donn Roach saved the Padres bullpen allowing only one run in 4.1 innings of work and had his first major league hit, a double in the top of the sixth.
