Tim Lincecum No-Hits The San Diego Padres — AGAIN !

San Diego, CA- For the second time in his career and the second time in the past two seasons Tim Lincecum has no-hit the San Diego Padres to avoid the series sweep defeating the Padres 4-0.
Last season it took Lincecum 148 pitches to no-hit the San Diego Padres. Yesterday was a much more dominant performance as Lincecum only needed 113 pitches to no-hit the San Diego Padres with one walk and six strikeouts. Lincecum also helped himself on offense going 2-3 with two runs scored. For the Giants it was the 16th no-hitter in franchise history and the ninth thrown against the San Diego Padres.
The Giants took an early lead in the bottom of the second on a sacrifice fly by Hector Sanchez to score Brandon Crawford and give the Giants a 1-0 lead.
Pablo Sandoval would extend the Giants lead in the bottom of the third on an RBI double to score Lincecum to give the San Francisco Giants a 2-0 lead.
Buster Posey would add a two-run double in the seventh to score Lincecum and Hunter Pence to extend the Giants lead to 4-0.
Ian Kennedy had a strong outing for the San Diego Padres despite the loss allowing four runs on nine hits with eight strikeouts in six innings of work. Ian Kennedy falls to (5-9) on the season.
Despite getting no-hit, the San Diego Padres still won the series. The San Diego Padres are off tomorrow and return to Petco Park on Friday to take on the NL West last place Arizona Diamondbacks.
