San Diego, CA- San Diego Chargers preseason practices are going well. There are a few players that we have not seen yet due to injury. Hopefully they get to play soon.
Brandon Flowers and Jason Verrett did not play in the first preseason game due to injuries. Flowers had a leg injury but he has been fully practicing and may play in the next game. Verrett is still not hitting due to his surgically repaired shoulder and may practice next week.
Corey Liuget is a player Charger fans are really excited for this season. He has been in a walking boot because of an ankle injury but was able to work on agility drills without a boot. He is not expected to play in the next preseason game.
Lawrence Guy has not practiced due to a shoulder injury and Damik Scaife has also been out. It gives an opportunity to young defensive linemen with Liuget, Guy, and Scaife out.
Thankfully there are only a few injuries on offense. Jeromey Clary is on the physically unable to perform list and may miss the entire preseason. Vincent Brown has a calf injury and has not practiced. Offensive guards will have openings to more play time and can hopefully bring depth. Brown’s injury gives more play time for players like Seyi Ajirotutu and Dontrelle Inman.
The Chargers next game is against the Seattle Seahawks on August 15 at 7 p.m. Pacific.
