San Diego, CA- The San Diego Chargers defensive tackle Sean Lissemore returned to practice today, while safety Jahleel Addae and center Nick Hardwick remain out.

More from San Diego Chargers

Lissemore the Chargers starting nose tackle, has been sidelined the final two preseason games with an ankle injury. According to UT-San Diego’s Tom Krasovic, Lissemore returned to practice today and showed no limitations in today’s individual drills.

The return of Lissemore is excellent news for the Chargers, as the teams weakest area right now is the defensive line due to injuries to Kwame Geathers, Lawrence Guy, Damik Scafe, Ryan Carrethers and the loss of undrafted rookie defensive end Ricky Tjong-A-Tjoe for the season due to a torn ACL.

  • According to UT-San Diego’s Michael Gehlken, safety Jahleel Addae (hamstring) and center Nick Hardwick remain out, while Hardwick’s absence from today’s practice may simply be rest for the veteran center.

The Chargers may not rush Addae back for Monday nights game against the Cardinals, as a hamstring injury is a very sensitive injury and the Chargers need Addae fully healthy for the rest of the regular season.

With Addae potentially out, look for the Chargers to turn to versatile defensive back Richard Marshall, Marcus Gilchrist or Darrell Stuckey to fill in Addae’s role in the secondary.

Hardwick despite off-season rumors of his potential retirement, returns to the Chargers for his 11th season as the teams starting center. The Chargers will be very careful to make sure Hardwick remains healthy, as he brings unmatched stability to the middle of the offensive line.
