Andrew Cashner improved to (4-7) on the season, after allowing no runs on two hits with seven strikeouts in 9 innings of work.
Andrew Cashner retired the first 11 batters he faced until Dominic Brown broke up the no-hitter in the top of the fifth with a bunt single. Brown was met with heavy boo’s from the Padres fans in attendance and it was well deserved. The Phillies tried to sell that it was only a one run game and that they were trying to win the game….but lets be realistic it was a game between two under .500 teams and the Padres have never had a no-hitter in their franchises history. So if your gonna break-up the no-hitter….earn it…don’t get some cheap bunt with the infield shift on.
