San Diego, CA- The San Diego Padres defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 7-3 in Robbie Erlin‘s first first Major League start since May.

The Padres scored the games first run in the bottom of the second on Alexi Amarista‘s second home run of the series to give the Padres a 1-0 lead.
Domonic Brown would tie the game with an RBI single in the top of the fourth.
The Padres would regain the lead 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth on a sacrifice fly by Amarista.
Seth Smith would extend the Padres lead to 3-1 in the bottom of the fifth on an RBI single to score Jedd Gyorko.
The Padres extended their lead to 4-1 in the sixth after an RBI double by Cameron Maybin to score Cory Spangenberg.
Will Venable would break the game open in the eighth with a three-run home run.

Erlin, who spent most of the season on the disabled list, allowed only one run on five hits and six strikeouts in six innings of work. Erlin has been out since May, before going on the disabled list with left elbow soreness.
