San Diego, CA- San Diego Padres rookie Odrisamer Despaigne was dominant once again at home and shutdown the San Francisco Giants 5-0.

Odrisamer Despaigne allowed no runs on two hits and six strikeouts in seven innings of work. Odrisamer Despaigne is now (2-0) with a 0.45 ERA in three starts against the Giants this season. For the Padres pitching staff this was their ninth shutout of the season and third against the Giants.

The Padres would score early off Tim Hudson as in the bottom of the first the Padres scored four runs on a two-run double by Alex Amarista and a two-run single by Cameron Maybin to give the Padres a 4-0 lead.
The Padres would add another run in the bottom of the 3rd on an RBI double by Seth Smith to extend the Padres lead to 5-0.
RHP Andrew Cashner (4-7, 2.20) takes the mound for the Padres against Giants RHP Yusmeiro Petit (5-4, 3.64 ERA) in game two of the three game series.
