Danny Woodhead had 15 rushing attempts for 38 yards and five receptions for 34 yards and no touchdowns on the season. With the Chargers up 27-21 at the start of the 4th quarter, Ryan Mathews fumbled and while attempting to recover the fumble injured his right knee and had to be carted off the field.

RookiesBranden OliverandMarion Gricewill also be expected to heavily contribute to the running game. Undrafted rookie free agent Branden Oliver was impressive in the pre-season with 35 rushes for 161 yards and a touchdown. Oliver will likely assume Danny Woodhead’s role in the Chargers offense.
