The Cardinals signed Marion Grice to a two-year deal to join the Cardinals’ active roster and leave the Charger practice squad.
With Danny Woodhead out for the season with a broken fibula and Ryan Mathews out four to five weeks with a sprained MCL the Chargers are expected to rely heavily on Donald Brown and Rookie Branden Oliver to carry the running game.
The Chargers signed D.J. Adams as an undrafted free agent this past off-season and spent time with the Chargers in training camp.
D.J. Adams is a 5’9 running back out of Portland State University. D.J. Adams was named an Associated Press Third All-American after rushing for 1,600 yards and 19 touchdowns on 256 carries last season.

Here’s a scouting report of D.J. Adams by Nolan Nawrocki of NFL.com:
"Has a solid build and a low center of gravity and good contact balance to run through arm tackles and clear his feet through traffic. Slippery runner with nice vision and short-area burst. Has quick feet and a creative flair and can shake some tacklers in the hole or open field. Has soft hands. Emerged as a freshman at Maryland before being relegated to the bench and transferring to Portland State. Followed a standout senior season by earning MVP distinction in the Medal of Honor all-star game for his former Terps coach Ralph Friedgen. Possesses the run size and run instincts to compete for a complementary role."
