According to Michael Gehlken of UT-San Diego, Jason Verrett was moving well in individual drills during today’s practice.
Verrett suffered a hamstring injury at the end of the game against the Buffalo Bills in Week 3. Verrett was unable to play during last Sundays game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, after being held out of practice last week. Verrett should be expected to start this weekend against the New York Jets, especially with Shareece Wright expected to miss some time with his sprained MCL.
Wide reciver Malcom Floyd (Illness), tight-end Ladarius Green (Hamstring), linebacker Jarret Johnson (Shoulder), linebacker Cordarro Law (Ankle) fully participated in practice today after being limited yesterday.
Tight end David Johnson (shoulder), linebacker Donald Butler (shoulder), cornerback Jason Verrett (hamstring), and defensive end Corey Liuget were limited in practice once again. Linebacker Dwight Freeney (knee) didn’t practice today after being limited yesterday.
Cornerback Shareece Wright (knee), center Rich Ohrnberger (back), outside linebacker Jerry Attaochu (hamstring), outside linebacker Reggie Walker (ankle), linebacker Manti Te’o (foot) and running back Ryan Mathews (knee) did not participate in practice.
Wright injured his right knee Sunday during an accidental collision with safety Jahleel Addae in the second quarter against the Jaguars.
Wright has been the San Diego Chargers starting left cornerback the past two seasons and has been a key contributor on the Chargers defense this season. Shareece Wright has been one of the Chargers top tacklers this season and had five solid open field tackles against the Jaguars today before he was injured.
