Also inactive for the Chargers are running back Ryan Mathews, running back Donald Brown, linebacker Manti Te’o and defensive end Cordarro Law.

2nd round pick outside linebacker Jerry Attaochu has been unable to practice the past few weeks with a hamstring injury, but was able to return and play last week against the Raiders. Unfortunately Attaochu continues to struggle with his hamstring injury and was held out of practice all week and will not be able to play today against the Chiefs.

  • The San Diego Chargers secondary have a tough task tonight going up against Peyton Manning and that task will be even tougher, as they will be without cornerback Brandon Flowers.

Brandon Flowers suffered a concussion during Sunday’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and wasn’t able to practice at all this week. Even if the Chargers were playing on Sunday it would’ve been highly unlikely that Brandon Flowers would’ve been able to play. Brandon Flowers has made a huge impact on the Chargers defense this season. Flowers leads the team with two interceptions and has brought veteran leadership and toughness to a secondary that has been the weak spot in the Chargers defense the past few seasons.

Richard Marshall who struggled mightily in Sunday’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs is starting tonight at cornerback alongside Shareece Wright according to Michael Gehlken of UT-San Diego. Wright isn’t 100% either as he just returned to the Chargers starting lineup last week, after being out the past two weeks with a sprained MCL he suffered following an accidental collision with safety Jahleel Addae in the second quarter of Week 4’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
