San Diego, CA- The San Diego Padres have placed reliever Troy Patton on the disabled list with left shoulder soreness. By placing Troy Patton on the disabled list the Padres made room for Jesse Hahn from Double-A San Antonio. Hahn was dominant today for the San Diego Padres in his second major league start, as he allowed no runs on one hit, three walks and seven strikeouts in six innings of work.

More from San Diego Padres

According to Dennis Lin of  UT-San Diego, Patton felt soreness in his left shoulder two or three days ago and began to feel serious pain last night. While Patton didn’t necessarily need to go on the DL , the Padres needed to make room for Jesse Hahn and placing Patton on the Dl allows him to fully recover from his shoulder soreness. Patton pitched an inning in relief Friday night in the San Diego Padres 5-0 loss to the Mets.
